7 months already?! How is that even possible? It seems like your first birthday will be here in no time! You are at such a FUN age. You are 25 inches long and weigh 14 pounds and 6 ounces. You may be tiny, but your personality is anything but tiny. The doctor said you are probably so little because you are so active. You kick your legs all the time and roll everywhere. I always think of the song Angel by Jack Johnson when I look at you. You are so dainty and I always say that my grandma and your aunt Carly helped pick you out in heaven.
You started sitting up around 6 months old but fell over easily. Right before you turned 7 months you started sitting up on your own like a champ! You’re learning how to wave and how to high five. You waved at the guys at church the other week and they both said you look so young to know how to wave. You really don’t look 7 months old lol.
Since you started eating baby food, you prefer vegetables over fruit. Your least favorite has been apples. You made the worst face for apples, but you liked apples and kale mixed together. The past couple of days you haven’t wanted any baby food and you will smile and keep your mouth shut tight if I try to feed you. I’m so excited to continue to watch your sense of humor develop because something tells me you’ll be pretty funny.
Kicking your legs and babbling have become your latest hobbies. You’ve even started yelling and the first couple of times I thought you were upset, but then I looked over and saw you smiling like, “Did you hear me, mom?” I guess you’re just learning how to exercise those vocal chords lol. Everyone says you’re going to be a chatterbox and I can’t wait to hear all of the funny things you’ll say as you get a little older. When you met your best friend Braxleigh, you kicked your legs, smiled as big as you could, made noises, and tried to touch her. She is 1 month old and it’s going to be so fun to watch the two of you grow up together.
As I type these monthly updates, I find myself saying, “you love..” over and over, but what I’ve come to realize is, you love life and I love living life with you! I hope that you never lose your playfulness, joy, and love for life. It’s going to be one wild ride and we’re so excited to be on the best adventure with you Oakley. I can’t wait to see all that you’ll accomplish and the way you will continue to touch peoples’ lives. Like I’ve said before, you’ve got a smile that can light up an entire room, but really, your smile can light up someone’s entire life. Every day with you is the best day! You bring out the best in us and bring out the best in our little family. We love you Oakley Lane, forever and ever. XOXO
