Once you buy a house, the to-do list of things you want to renovate or change seems like it’s never ending and it may seem like you need a million dollars to get it all done. Starting a farm is the same way. Have you ever heard the saying, “You have to spend money to make money?” Oh my gosh, I never knew barbed wire and metal posts could be so expensive. But, how can you get cows, pigs, sheep, horses, etc, if your property isn’t fenced? The one thing that I have learned about buying a house that needs some work and starting a farm is, it won’t happen overnight and that’s okay. It’s okay to take it one step at a time. I actually think there’s more satisfaction in taking baby steps rather than getting everything done all at once. It’s fun to see progress being made even if that means building your vegetable boxes but not planting anything in them until next year.
