Being a teacher comes with a lot of perks like CHRISTMAS BREAK!  Andrew got some extra time off too because of the holidays, so that worked out really well! I’ve had two weeks off and I have enjoyed every minute with Oakley.  Instead of putting her down in her crib for every nap, I took a nap with her if I felt like I needed to.  Having two weeks off means you can get a lot of stuff done but I tried to focus on spending time with her rather than crossing everything off my to-do list.  Plus, this was the first time in a long time that I had an actual break and didn’t have any school work to finish.

Christmas time is a big time of year for us around our house.  Andrew’s birthday is December 23rd and my birthday is December 28th.  He’s five days older than me and it’s always fun to celebrate our birthdays together.  This birthday was a little different because it was our first birthday as parents! We never do anything too extravagant for our birthdays and just enjoy spending time together.  Our family came to visit and it was fun to hang out with them. We stayed inside for the most part because it was so cold, which meant we spent a lot of quality time together!
